There can be many reasons to have a family session. You could have a session every year to document your family’s growth, to welcome a new baby, or in this case, to say goodbye to their first home together. They have to move this summer and Mom knew she wanted her precious space photographed. She also knew she wanted to be IN the photos and not just behind the camera.

I know that oftentimes Dad’s doesn’t really want the session to be honest. They just want the weekend to be restful and fun, and not stressful. I get that!! But over and over, I hear that when the gallery is delivered, Dad is so glad to have had the session, those little memories saved forever. But, print the photos, too, for extra safety!

In-Home sessions offer, at least, two things:

Reduced Stress. I am coming to you. You don’t have to load the kids in the car, pack a diaper bag, and drive around to some location to sweat and fight the dogs.. Sure, you should tidy up the house, but you do that anyway, and really, you only need to tidy the rooms I’ll be in. While I’m at it, another plus, when I’m done with the session, you can chill in a tidied house ;)
Home Is Where The Heart Is. I believe this so much. We LIVE in our house, we love to cultivate the atmosphere and surrounding of our home. Your kids play there, create fun chaos in your home, and feel loved and safe there. The home helps to tell your story. Think of it as a book, this time in your life and home is a chapter in your blessed book.
Repeat after me, it does not matter if your home is small, or sparse, or dark. As your photographer, I will find the light we need. If your house is small or sparse - it is YOUR life chapter and it’s so worth documenting!
