In-Home Lifestyle Newborn Session | Nashville Tennessee Newborn Photographer

Before and After edits of an In-Home Lifestyle Newborn Session.

By Five Pence Photography

During this Covid-19 Quarantine, I’ve decided to use some of my free(r) time and re-edit an older in-home newborn session. This session was back when I still lived in Okinawa. So many homes there had yellow tinted walls, and harsh light streaming through the small windows. Natalie was very creative at making her on-base house look unique.

This session started with Mom not quite ready yet, and the baby was fussy, so Dad worked his charm on her. I always come with an idea of poses I like to make sure we get for you during your session, but I don’t cling too tightly to the list because I like to allow for your family’s energy to come through. After all, you hired me to photograph YOUR family.

This is probably my favorite of them all together from this in-home lifestyle newborn session. I just love that little dog about to give his mama some kisses.

This was the last picture taken at the session, completely unplanned and unposed. The baby was fussing as she was tired and hungry, and he had her as mom and I were busy cleaning up the little area we used, and he had such a calming way with her.

Ohhh, I’ve melted over her squishiness so many times. The quarantine is almost over and I will be able to photograph the mamas and babies that have so patiently waited. It makes me happy to know that what I do means so much. Photography is a luxury, you do not need it to survive. Yet, photographs are always amongst what you would save if your house was burning or flooding. The fact that once they are gone, grieves us, it places photography in some space between need and want.
